Dan started piano at the age of 6 and went on to play guitar, sax and sing. He started recording on a Casio keyboard and cassette tape recorder. He has dabbled in all types of music and writes and records anything from rock and folk to electronic music and other types of experimental things. The song flare is based on a drive Dan used to take in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California on his way to work from Boulder Creek to Mountain View.
