Olly Lewis is an acoustic singer/songwriter based in Bristol/Southampton. Gigging regularly, he continues to build his fanbase and make a name for himself
Olly Lewis was born in 1992 in Bristol. He used to be in an Indie/Alternative trio called Go Dutch. In the two years they were together they supported big names touring such as Data.Select.Party and The Excerts. They were also offered to support Bloc Party in London along with Zane Lowe and The Noisettes on another occasion. After they split and the boys had finished their GCSE Music, Olly Lewis went to St Mary Redcliffe Sixth Form College to study A Level Music and Music Technology. During his stay there, Olly started his solo singer/songwriter career and collaborated with Nathan Searle. They formed an acoustic duo (similar to Simon and Garfunkel) that were Two in a Boat. Olly and Nathan had great success in the two years they were together, performing in and around Bristol at prestigious venues such as St George's and the Colston Hall. Two in a Boat also entered the Live and Unsigned 2010 competition and won first prize, performing not only on the Colston Hall Main Stage in front of several thousands of people but consequently performed at Glastonbury Festival 2010 on the BBC Introducing Stage. Emily Eavis, Michael Eavis' daughter promoted Two in a Boat as one of her recommended listening acts at that year's festival. At the age of 17, not only did Olly Lewis perform at Glastonbury Festival 2010 and get to watch one of his main idols (Stevie Wonder) for free, but he also performed at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the REMIX Creative Orchestra for the BBC Proms under 18s. Since the days of Two in a Boat, Olly has continued to gig and songwrite alone and has gone to the University of Southampton to do a BA Music degree, specialising in performance and composition. He continues to gig regularly in Bristol and Southampton and is hoping to perform on a larger scale.
Olly Lewis is a bristol-based singer/songwriter regularly gigging in Bristol (his hometown) and Southampton (where he is currently doing his BA Music degree). He is hoping to take his singing and songwriting on as his full-time profession.
