MakeaStar.com: Welcome to the finals. Did you
ever think you would get this far?
Frontliners: I believe our music is strong and
it stands out from the other artists in the hip hop
genre, and for that we have accomplished so much and it
has gotten us this far. I thank everyone for showing us
love it means a lot to us and it shows that God is
working through our music
MAS: What
do you think it is about your song that it has gotten
into the finals?
Frontliners: I know many times we might feel
alone but the lord is always there watching over us
performing miraculous miracles.
MAS:
Have
you been getting any e-mail from Fans? The Industry?
Frontliners: Yes we receive mail from fans
over seas and here in the United States. In the industry
we have producers who contact us and artist who show us
support. My sister and I gladly respond to our fan mail.
MAS: What is the response to your song and your
sound in general?
Frontliners: We receive positive feedback from
artists who are currently trying to get in the industry,
and from people who are in the industry.
MAS: What do you think about MakeaStar.com's
Industry review service?
Frontliners: I think it's wonderful! It gives
an artist the chance to be heard by people in the
industry.
MAS: What about the equal voting power being
given to Fans and the Industry in the contests?
Frontliners: I believe this is a fair voting
policy, by giving voting power to the fans shows what
music is enjoyed by the public, and the industry has
experience on what music is ready for the public today.
MAS: Was getting into the contest your primary goal
or were you more interested in the industry review?
Frontliners: My manger/ uncle entered us in a
competition to get an idea how the music would affect
others.
MAS: How did you develop your sound? Is there a
primary songwriter?
Is it
collaborative?
Frontliners: We developed
by being open minded with all types of genres. The
primary song writer is Xzantus.
MAS: Any influences you care to mention? What have
other people compared you to?
Frontliners: The most significant influences in
my life that shaped me into the person that I am today
is my Mother, close friends and family. The music which
shaped my style is by artists like Sting, Mos def, and
the Fugees.
MAS: What do you think may set you apart from other
Artists in your genre?
Frontliners: Our music is original and unique
from other artists in our genre.
MAS: It’s obvious that your recorded material is
great, how about the your shows?
Frontliners: While on stage my partner and I
have a great connection with the crowd, using Nikiya
soulful voice with intense freestyles. The effort and
energy we put in our shows pays of in the end, resulting
in crowd participation and a strong stage presence.
MAS: Are you playing anywhere anytime soon?
Frontliners: Currently we are not booked
to perform in any venues.
MAS: Have you released your music already? If so
how, where and when?
Frontliners: If not, do you plan to in the near
future? We have released our music independently, and
currently we are looking for a distribution deal.
MAS: Where would you like to see your music take
you?
Frontliners: My current goal is for our music
to go main stream and international.
MAS: How realistic is that goal in terms of the
immediate future?
Frontliners: Getting this far in the competition
is a blessing and shows that it could be a realistic
goal for being main stream in the future
