MakeaStar.com: Welcome to the finals. Did you
ever think you would get this far?
Gray: We hoped we would get this far but not
really expected it.
MAS: What do you think it is about your song that it
has gotten into the finals?
Gray: We think that most people can relate to it,
it is a fun song with a great hook.
MAS: Have you been getting any e-mail from Fans?
The Industry?
Gray: We have gotten a few emails, but we are not
swamped yet.
MAS: What is the response to your song and your
sound in general?
Gray: This song gets a great response when it is
preformed live.
MAS: What do you think about MakeaStar.com's
Industry review service?
Gray: The review service is great way to get
noticed and get quality reviews for any band that is
trying to make a name for themselves.
MAS: What about the equal voting power being
given to Fans and the Industry in the contests?
Gray: I think the industry should have more
voting power….if the fans have too much it could turn
into a popularity contest instead of a talent contest.
But that could work for you also, so it is not always a
bad thing.
MAS: Was getting into the contest your primary
goal or were you more interested in the industry review?
Gray: We were more interested in an industry
review. We wanted to know what the pros thought of the
songs.
MAS: How did you develop your sound? Is there a
primary songwriter? Is it collaborative?
Gray: Rich Gray is the primary song writer. The
sound is just a mix of the influences and life
experience itself.
MAS: Any influences you care to mention? What
have other people compared you to?
Gray: The influences are Pearl jam, Our Lady
Peace, James Taylor, Cat Stevens. We have been compared
to everyone from Dave Mathews to the Goo Goo Dolls to
Blues Traveler.
MAS: What do you think may set you apart from
other Artists in your genre?
Gray: Song dynamics, and strong vocals.
MAS: It’s obvious that your recorded material is
great, how about the your shows?
Gray: We have been told that the true emotions of
the songs come across amazingly in the live shows, and
that the show is full of energy.
MAS: Are you playing anywhere anytime soon?
Gray: We will be playing again in August.
MAS: Have you released your music already? If so
how, where and when? If not, do you plan to in the near
future?
Gray: If you calling sell CDs at show a release,
then yes we have.
MAS: Where would you like to see your music take
you?
Gray: To a career that we don’t have to worry
where the next pay check will come from.
MAS: How realistic is that goal in terms of the
immediate future?
Gray: As realistic as the next band, you never
know.
MAS: What one band would you like to follow in
the footsteps of down the road to success?
Gray: not sure.
MAS: Any inspiration behind your band name or was
it pretty much a straight forward thing?
Gray: Pretty much straight forward.
