MakeaStar.com:
Welcome back to the finals after a long time. Did you
think it would be possible to get this far again?
Noel Wentworth:
You betcha, It was a
Excellent Review of my song by your industry Reviewer
that led to 18 rewrites and Ultimately to get this far.
MAS: As a
previous contest Champion, how do you think you will
fare this time?
N.W.:
The songs are getting better on MakeaStar. The
competition is getting stronger too as time goes by.
It's anyone's game if you've got a good song.
MAS: What compelled you to re-submit “Something
about me's changed”?
N.W.: The review I got
showed off my strengths and weaknesses. After 5 min of
feeling down about getting a 7 on a scale of one to 10.
I did a ton of rewrites to try and get the story across
a lot better. It paid off with scores of 9 and higher.
MAS:
What do you think about MakeaStar.com's Industry review
of this song?
N.W.: If it wasn't for the
review in the first place I wouldn't be here. I think
they hit the nail on the head. It's fantastic to get a
truly objective opinion on something that you grow
attached to. Sometimes it takes something like this to
snap you out of your head space and allow you to realize
it can be way better with some effort.
MAS:
How do you feel about the equal voting power being given
to Fans and the Industry in the contests?
N.W.: It's the only way it
should be done. I hate popularity, I have more friends
contests. This way everyone gets a fair shot.
MAS:
Have you been getting any e-mail from Fans? Any contacts
from the Industry?
N.W.:
Actually I made a few fans out of this who really like
what I do.
MAS: Have the reviews from MakeaStar.com’s helped
you improve your material?
N.W.:
Yes, there always is more room to improve. Dumb answer
but true. The review itself on my first version allowed
me to write about something that was very universal and
not vague. I think this has opened my eyes to some of my
newest songs in the same way and how I will be writing
music in the future.
MAS: How were you inspired when you wrote this song?
N.W.:
Being picked on as a Kid can resurface in so many ways.
I like to think of music as a sponge for my feelings and
things I haven't completely dealt with. I'd like to
offer hope in my music and hopefully challenge others
who are currently in the shoes I was once in to be more
than they can be. I know this may sound like a Anthony
Robbins type of thing but if there is free will and
choice then we can do anything we set our minds to. We
can change anything about ourselves or our situations we
are in.
MAS: Is there a specific subject matter that you
won’t write or sing about?
N.W.:
That's a tough one .There are always metaphors for even
the darkest topics. I'm not the type of person to write
about really dark ideas or things that are hurtful to
others.
MAS: This song is a great recorded material; but
how is the response when you play this live?
N.W.:
I'll be debuting it next week...we'll see then.
MAS: How have the Artists who influenced you shaped
the way you approach your music?
N.W.:
They have given me a subconscious palate of sounds that
I carry around with me to deconstruct and then
reconstruct into something that is my own.
MAS: How do you intend to maintain your musical
niche in your genre?
N.W.:
Just keep writing about things that matter the most to
me. I think my sound will develop naturally that way and
my personality will come through loud and clear.
MAS: Where/When can your fans see you live?
N.W.:

MAS: What is the most important reason that you do
what you do as an Artist?
N.W.:
To offer hope and joy/celebration and hopefully change
someone's life.
MAS: What do you feel is your biggest strength as an
Artist/Songwriter?
N.W.:
To offer something that is completely different from the
brooding negativity that goes on in today's music.
