MakeaStar.com: Welcome to the finals!
Did you ever think you would get this far?
Vonne Andring:
I didn’t know what to expect…but I’m thrilled that I
did!
MAS: What do you think it is about your song that
it has gotten into the finals?
VA: Maybe the fact that it comes from my
heart…it’s an honest song.
MAS: Have you been getting any e-mail from Fans?
The Industry?
VA: Some.
MAS: What is the response to your song and your
sound in general?
VA: Seems to be very positive…both from the
industry and from the fans.
MAS: What do you think about MakeaStar.com's
Industry review service?
VA: It’s a very valuable service.
MAS: What about the equal voting power being
given to Fans and the Industry in the contests?
VA: It’s a good way to know how you are
received by both the public and the industry - equal
voting seems very fair.
MAS: Was getting into the contest your primary
goal or were you more interested in the industry review?
VA: I was mainly interested in the review…but
winning is addicting…It just feels good!
MAS: How did you develop your sound? Is there a
primary songwriter? Is it collaborative?
VA: My sound must be a collaboration of all
the sounds that have influenced me over the years…I am
the only writer.
MAS: Any influences you care to mention? What
have other people compared you to?
VA: Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand.
MAS: What do you think may set you apart from
other Artists in your genre?
VA: I’m doing my own thing — not trying too
hard to write “hits” and being true to where the music
takes me.
MAS: Are you playing anywhere anytime soon?
VA: I am playing at a battle of the bands…in
which I am a judge!
MAS: Have you released your music already? If so
how, where and when? If not, do you plan to in the near
future?
VA: I am working out the details of releasing
a CD soon!
MAS: Where would you like to see your music take
you?
VA: Everywhere.
MAS: How realistic is that goal in terms of the
immediate future?
VA: It’s hard to say…it’s a funny business…one
can only forge ahead and hope.
MAS: What one band would you like to follow in
the footsteps of down the road to success?
VA: Dianne Warren
